Framing Matters

After a visit to America and a lot of market research Cathy and Quentin Webster opened the doors of Framing Matters in the lovely suburb of Manuka in Queensland in 2001.

From the start the plan was to open a small boutique shop with a homely interior that would give  customers a sense of how their pictures would look in their own home.

The business has grown significantly over the years and Cathy and Quentin now employ art graduates and have two Conservators on staff.  Quentin has his MCPF and  Cathy has  a current CPF as has another staff member.  They have many customers who appreciate these services and refer others to the store as a result.

Cathy and Quentin understand that investing in technology is important and have a CMC and computers at all work stations which enable them to log all work and maintain an effective work system and customer database.

Framing Matters have two websites which form part of their effective marketing strategy but as Cathy explained “nothing replaces quality service and personal attention.  Our clients value skill and knowledge and it’s the reason they return to our store”.

Framing Matters philosophy is to offer exceptional design and produce quality preservation framing to the highest standards.  Introducing Bellini Fine Moulding to their store was the logical next step for Framing Matters and the range has added an exciting new dimension to their already notable designs.  “The Bellini team created the display for us in a prominent position in our store and it has a wow factor on entry” Cathy said. Every quarter Framing Matters change their window display to showcase their framing designs and invariably the the designs on show are framed with Bellini Fine Moulding and the window has become a big draw card as it is seen by many passers by.

Cathy explained that initially it was a little daunting setting up with the Bellini samples, but the effect is amazing and that when customers see Bellini on the wall they can't help but be tempted.   “Once clients have seen their art work designed with a Bellini frame they find it difficult to choose anything else and will usually elect to go the extra mile and pay the difference”, she said.
